Self-Hosted NAS Server

Self-Hosted NAS Server

I started from a simple observation: online subscriptions (Google Drive, iCloud, Netflix, Bitwarden) are expensive, and you do not fully own your personal files.

Subscription costs add up quickly, and data privacy is compromised on public clouds.

So I built my own NAS from a recycled Dell OptiPlex computer, running TrueNAS and Docker. I configured Nextcloud & Vaultwarden for secure file and password management, Immich for automated photos backup (Google Photos alternative), and a Jellyfin media server automated with Radarr/Sonarr. Thanks to Cloudflare Tunnels, I securely access this from anywhere without a VPN, keeping my home network closed.
